Not sure what this is? That’s fair. Let’s clear it up.

Here’s what The Sh*t We Carry actually does, and why people use it to have conversations they didn’t know they needed.

THE REAL PROBLEM MOST DON’t Talk About

We’re more connected than ever, yet lonelier than ever.

Most of us are carrying sh*t in silence.

Stress, guilt, pressure, family stuff, identity stuff — things we never say out loud because it feels awkward, unsafe, or “too much.”

Everywhere you look, people are together but not really connecting.

  • Friends hang out but stay on the surface.

  • Families avoid hard conversations.

  • Roommates coexist without bonding.

  • Students push through stress quietly.

  • Coworkers stay emotionally guarded.

It’s not that people don’t want depth. they just don’t know how to start.

What is TSWC?

Two decks of cards, one with a red back and the label 'THE SH*T WE CARRY' with a walking person with a backpack, and the other with a white and black design labeled 'FUN SH*T' asking, 'WHAT'S SOMETHING SMALL THAT'S BEEN MAKING YOU FEEL GOOD LATELY?'
A black box labeled 'The Sh*t We Carry' contains feedback cards, some of which are black labeled 'Abertionalsh*t' and some are red labeled 'Feedback' with a walking person icon.

The Sh*t We Carry is a conversation system.

A structured set of cards that helps people open up at their own pace, using humor, honesty, and real language.

HOW TO USE
  • TSWC gives you a step-by-step way to have real conversations without awkwardness, pressure, or therapy vibes. You don’t have to figure out where to start — the system guides you.

  • We start with dumb, funny questions on purpose. Laughing together drops everyone’s guard so the deeper stuff feels natural instead of forced.

  • The deck moves in levels — Funny → Aspirational → Real → Heavy → Grounded — so the conversation warms up slowly and lands safely.

  • You share only what feels right. Clear framing and optional levels keep everything within your comfort zone.

  • The cards ask the questions. You just respond. No pressure to come up with something profound or carry the conversation.

  • There’s no diagnosing, fixing, or analyzing. Just real conversations that help people feel lighter, closer, and less alone.

  • Pass, Swap, Time-Out, and Feedback cards make boundaries normal, expected, and respected.

  • Dorms, living rooms, team retreats, barbershops, family nights, friend groups — anywhere people want to talk but don’t know where to start.
